    Handbrake giving me grief

No not her shes fine, when she says dont tell me I dont!!!!! No worries for any one then.

The other handbrake was playing up, the light would sometimes stay on, other times go off.

Took the cover off and cleaned the switch - looked fine
Traced the wire to where it dissapears behind the dash - no damage
Cut the wire at that point - light stayed on
Wriggled the cables under the dash - light stayed on
Reconnected the wire, what to do now.

Had a pinkslip done today, the mechanic fixed it.

He topped up the brake fluid.

    DOH

Too much knowledge is downright dangerous
The low fluid level brings on the handbrake light.

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.

Yep I felt like a goose, so simple yet didnt even consider the brake fluid.

Did the fuel filters Sunday and didn't notice the level was low DOH.

When I told her about it even she said "I wouldn't have thought of that"

    Cheers Macca

It's also a brake warning light. If it wasn't a Patrol though it would have gone into limp mode then shut down, roadside assist would have to come and truck it back to a service centre, then an engineer from Japan would have to be flown here to rectify the problem and clear the error haha.

Dead right mate, this ones old school, not electronics - well almost.

No possibility of limp mode, thats one of the appealing factors when I was looking for it.

    Cheers Macca
