    sway bar link broken

    hay people me again i was playing round in the car and snap seems i have broken my sway bar link ?? i think thats whot its called could anyone tell me the right name or part that i nead please as it comes off the frame and im not shur wot i have to replace some pix and info wood be much appreciated this is the bit left and there is a bit hanging off the sway bay lol not ?????....http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fb...type=1&theater

    The link pins connect the sway bars at either end to the chassis ... good job to break one!!! lol well done!!

    If that's the part, they are cheap as chips to grab from wreckers IF you can find them, however, I'd suggest they've broken by either being smashed against something (hmmm, not overly likely but not impossible) or you've got a lift and left the originals in and they've broken from stress ... If the latter is the case, get some aftermarket extended link pins to replace (not cheap as such - $60 each and upwards depending on brand).

    Others may suggest leaving them off anyway depending on front or back, and quite honestly, that is absolutely your choice, however know that it would see you thrown off the road in the rare circumstance that you got picked up by the 'wrong cop on the wrong day' as it were ... a lot don't run them at all and run that risk, but that is something that only you can make the decision on ... don't be "swayed" to do so (pardon the pun) as it were if you want to keep it fully road legal and safe for family etc.

    Or none of the above, my old mans broke and he doesn't use it off road.
