Hope this info is useful for some of you.
Simplest description I have read on how a diesel VE fuel pump (common to all GQ diesels) works and what part does what.
I'm having cold start idling issues on my GQ2.8 and came across this when trying to understand what controls diesel idle beyond just the obvious idle up screw. Answer - timing advance.
If anyone else has good info on this, chuck it in here maybe?

Also found this while looking for info about injection pumps for TD42. Same kind of info, bit more basic, good diagrams.
