12v Compressors ?

Hi, I'm looking at doing some beech driving and am wondering if there is a good value 12v compressor on the market that's not to expensive, will be looking at an ARB compressor with air locker later down the line but won't be doing that for a while due to the cost of buying a 4x4 to start with!

Mate, I've been happy with a cheap compressor from ebay. I've had it for about 5 years and had no issues. Yeah it might me slightly slower but always gets the job done. Get on ebay and you'll get one for 40-50 bucks
I just got a new TJM one(freeby), haven't used it yet so not sure how good/bad it is.

I got an ABR (not ARB) Sidewinder and it's good also - 150psi at 150 litres per minute and it cost about $220

If your going to buy air lockers later then think about an ARB Hi Output one now with the pump up kit. It will come with the full loom and ready for the air lockers later. When the time comes get them to hard wire and mount it for you and it will do the lot. They are a Kick Butt compressor too. If you dont then ARB will charge you another $175 for the little air locker compressor not suitable for pumping up tyres. ARB will need the Loom for the lockers and will charge you for that and it is included in the box.

Spend it once.

If you not going that way then the cheap ones off ebay will stand up to it no problem.

Go with the ARB, I have it mounted under bonnet for on board air, 4 years Fraser and 2 trips to the cape and it still goes strong

this will be 150l/per/min at 0psi and a max of 150psi according to the website

im running 2 viair 400cc compressors very good unit 240ish each well worth the look
pumps up 6 35" tyres vs 2 35" arb hiflow

Its an Apples and Pears kind of argument though mate.

I just had a look on ebay for your description. Looks the goods if you have the chrome ones running in tandem but you need to supply 2 x 25amp supplies to the mounting point which is getting up there. all good though. They are high end to buy as a pair though and what i can find has them at around $600 landed! out of the USA.

I found them locally though a bit cheaper at $435

If anyone went and bought 2 Ebay compressors that were rated to 150psi and hooked 1 to each side of the car and pumped up 2 tyres at once they'd likely beat the ARB hi output compressor too. Kinda defeats the purpose a bit though?

For that kind of cash i'd be thinking going Endless Air under the bonnet or the new ARB Double Pumper. certainly they are way out of comparison with the cheaper Ebay compressors and the ARb will stretch the budget of those looking at the ebay comps and the ARB is still reachable. The OP also indicated the choice to install ARB lockers at a later date.

There is always second hand compressors popping up on there for a steal, Just give it a test run before parting cash.
