That's great. it almost sounds too good to be true! So all the regular stuff covered by full comprehensive and any accessory or mod covered anywhere you drive.

Well i have been with DGA over 5 years now, every time my renewal is up, its always $200-$300 dearer than the previous years. how come, well the first time i was told because of the CPI, the second time was it was because of how much every day living costs (isn't that CPI)the third and final time was because of the natural disasters, every time i ring them they tell me that if i can supply a quote they would near match it, and i do supply them one every time and yep they come to the party. BUT again it (insurance) is due again i rang again told them that they try and do this every year but since they changed there insurer from CGU to ALLIANZ they wont come to the party and the lady i was talking to was extremely rude about it. i email susan and with in 30 mins i had a phone call from her wich was quiet plesant. she was extremely upset about the way i had got treated on the phone, unfortuntly i could not remeber the ladys name who i was talking to. so at the end off all this it came out all good . so if you have any problems do not hesitate to contact her and im sure they will do a grate deal for a combination of 4x4ers,

This could be really... uuummmmm... interesting.

Allianz was the sole provider but is one of now two underwriters for TCIS Insurance Brokers who got the guernsey from the various submissions from Insurance Brokers nationwide for the National Council for the clubbies affiliated to the peak body.

Here's the thing. Allianz offer a product called their 'Prestige Policy' or similar around which the 4WD Policy from TCIS is based. I have also been told you can't get this off the street as it is a brokered package offering but that may be rubbish however no reason that DGA can't access it as the operate as a brokerage.

Anyway, most importantly there is a seperate additional Schedule from TCIS and Allianz (on shared letterhead) attached to the standard PDS which has further exemptions and coverage over and above Allianz's published offering.

Bottom line is that it will be very interesting to compare the PDS, Schedule and Prices in light of Allianz's statement that the additional PDS and Schedule were only available to ANFWDC affiliates. For what it's worth I am paying under 2.0% for coverage (vehicle, mods and extra's totalled). Sorry for being coy but if that doesn't make sense then purely hypothetically $50,000 cover should come in at $1,000 premium or less.

Bottom bottom line... if we get a decent offering from DGA then I am IN

Dolphins are so smart that within a few weeks of captivity, they can train people to stand on the very edge of the pool and throw them fish.

They finally got back to us and they will be on the forum soon to chat with us about discount's so stay tuned.

Just so everyone knows they are not associated with the forum in one bit nor are we getting any kick backs or anything so It's entirely up to them what they offer and what they can do for us and entirely up to you in what you decide individually.

    Stay tuned!

Below is a summary of the email I received...

1.We will join the forum and monitor it each day to view and respond as necessary to any postings your members may make

    2. The underwriters, Allianz, won't allow us such a thing as a bulk discount for any particular group. They calculate a particular premium for each vehicle and drivers, given a specific set of circumstances.

    3. However, we can build in a discount on a case by case basis if your members identify themselves as such, when dealing with our staff. The rate of this discount will vary due to the many and varied situations with 4wd vehicles, particularly serious heavily modified ones for serious off roaders. To give you a rough guide this discount would probably be in the 5-10% range.

    4. Im sure we won't be able to satisfy everyone but at the very least will be able to confirm to your members the cost of their current cover is competitive for a similar range of cover and benefits. We will point out what their current insurers aren't covering and this will allow them to make an informed decision on whether any difference in premium is worthwhile

    5. In addition if your members have any general insurance enquiries we would be happy to respond to any queries they may have or quote, via email or phone, as I assume you would prefer to keep the forum strictly 4WD related. We also offer insurance covering:
    - cars, caravans and campers
    - house and contents
    - boats and pleasure craft
    - business insurance

    Hi All

    It's DGA Insurance Brokers here.

At the invitation of Andy we have joined the forum to hopefully assist you with any insurance queries you might have, as well as offer members a discount on their premiums

We notice the idea of a bulk discount to members in the thread. The underwriters cant offer us a standard discount rate across the board due to the huge range of variables with 4WD's accessories, mods and driver experience etc

However, we can provide you with a discount if you identify yourself as a member of the forum, when you first deal with our 4WD specialists (Susan or Kylie). The rate of this discount will vary due to the many and varied situations with 4WD vehicles, particularly very heavily modified ones for serious off roaders. Obviously it still comes down to the end premium we can get for you and what your coverage requirements are. We are happy to give it a go, and hopefully can help most of you

I'm sure we won't be able to satisfy everyone, but at the very least will be able to confirm to your members that the cost of their current cover is at least competitive for a similar range of cover and benefits, to allow you to make an informed decision on whether any difference in premium is worthwhile to to you

Please refer to our website for further details of our 4WD cover etc at www.dgainsurance.com.au

We will monitor the thread and respond to any queries that are posted to help keep everyone informed

Our other contact details are as follows:

    Phone: (03) 8636 9000
    Fax: (03) 8636 9001
    Email: info@dgainsurance.com.au

In addition if your members have any general insurance enquiries we would be happy to respond to any queries they may have or quote, via email or phone. We also offer insurance covering:
    - cars, caravans and campers
    - house and contents
    - boats and pleasure craft
    - business insurance

    Regards

    DGA
