    $887 per year ...

    Still worth posing the question I suppose.

    EDIT: had no problem with insuring any mod so long as engineered - no problem with turbo, suspension lift, fuel system, etc
    So where do they draw the line between "any mod is covered" and "insuring any mod so long as its engineered"?. My trol is still legal, so that would mean that any mod is covered??
    And Im guessing its Full Comprehensive including fire, theft, at fault accidents and any driver (25 and over as it says)?

    Anyway, Just hooked out my insurance bits and pieces. Having compared mine to the above, i think im up for a change over. I would be interested in putting my name down if theres a group buy up.
    Sounds good

    Interesting...

    They will need to sharpen their pencil to get me to switch from TCIS ($48,000 cover at just over $1,000 premium) but always looking.

    I would have two questions...
    Who is the underwriter (Alliance QBE etc etc)?
    There is a BIG difference between "any mod" and "any engineered mod" so I would want their definition in writing

    I have a gut feeling looking at the premuims that for the extra money they are taking on the risk of engineered mods that other companies won't cover, could easily be wrong tho.
    If it is engineered mods (Eg engineered & certified 5 inch lift) then that is great coverage.
    If it is non-engineered mods (non-certified) then that is gobsmackingly good cover

    Alliance is the under writer.

    It's any modification that is bolt on from my understanding ET. If you're going to put in a V8 that doesnt come standard in that model of car, then it needs to be engineered. If you are making a limosine out of your patrol, engineers cert. If you are making it into a dual cab ute, need a engineers cert.

    Mods like wheels, suspension, body lifts, turbos, manifolds, heads etc.. do not need engineers certificates to be covered. Will you be road legal? NO.. will you be insured in case of accident? YES.

    Basically they are saying, they will cover you with any mod as long as it's not massively changing the dynamics of the car I guess.

    I'm currently emailing Susan again because they sent out the wrong Endorsement page with my Tax Invoice.

    Basically, there is a line in the endorsement that I had changed and it reads something like;

    "Vehicles can have any modification added to vehicle which is classed as road worthy with the RTA in your state"

    I thought.. hmm.. this is a sneaky way to get out of a claim.. So i had Susan change it too (basically saying);

    "Your vehicle can have any modification added to vehicle".
