    Cheap winches

Hey there guys and girls. Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with buying winches off ebay? In specifics this one-------> http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-12000...ht_4899wt_1139
Its a 12000lb iforce winch. I kinow usually you get what you pay for but the price is tempting. Any info would be appreciated.

sorry this is not a first hand experience but I have a friend who has the same winch, he has had it for 12 months and he said it has been fine so far. You are right though you get what you pay for, so if your going to be using it all the time, go for something good, If your using it once in a blue moon it will probably do what you want even if you have to double it up to save working it so hard.

the specs look pretty good..... i always like to use a double line pull as minimum anyway (not that you would need to with the specs).... i am always sceptical about cheap recovery gear but that looks pretty good!!!!!

Thanks for the responses guys. I might just have to give it a go. Only been bogged once (recently) and it made me think that I do need one as I usually go out in a single vehicle. It was only by luck that a pajero who was passing by was kind enough to tow me out. And as I will only be using it once in a blue moon and this will be my first winch I may as well give it a try. Save my pennies and look at a better one later on down the track. Cheers again

haha yeah it was embarrassing. but we'd only been there for 5 minutes and the boys were a lil pissed that i got us stuck first thing. so it was either move on and have an awesome day or stay there for a while. hopefully my new winch will help me avoid such embarrassing situations from now on

I started looking around for the lightest 12000lb winch i could find, after some research, i really liked the sound of Tigerz11 as this was one of the best spec'd winches i came across, looking at weight, amp draw etc.

My money is on THIS being the same winch as you get from Tigerz, but in a plain package and for nearly half the price......
