Yeah? Always thought they were govt debt collectors. Can you be arrested for outstanding debts? I thought you'd be summonsed for something like that. I may very well be wrong but until I snapped this pic (and never since) have I ever seen a Sheriff custody van. Interesting, I might have to do some googling.

There's a minor Sherif depot very close to my work. And just about every morning they congregate for donuts at the smoko shop next door. Friendly bunch it seems. Quiet often have a chat with them.
I will ask the question for you Plassy.
I will note that some of them are more armed than others and do drive more aggressive vehicles . They now have some Colorado's divvys from memory.
The rest are armed , but they drive Hybrid Camrys.
