I looked at that route, and what you say is true, and i was tempted, but what i surmised from walking that line, made it a big risk if you didnt make it first go, the rocks in that area seemed very slippery under foot with all that dust, and not making it up and over in one shot would mean the posibility or sliding sideways off line.

Looking at the size/depth and angle of the rock formed hole you had to straddle, the prospect of falling into it ,would certainly result in major damage or even a rollover, so with no locker, and on only 32 inch A/Ts ,the other way appeared the safer option if you got into trouble.
