Is the train transporting coal in NSW?

ova50
17th May 2014, 02:05 PM
Not in NSW either. It is on its way to pick up coal, not far from where I took the pic.
Hint: The town was relocated about 12ks south from it original position in the early 80s.

TPC
17th May 2014, 02:17 PM
That would make it the train picking up the coal from Leigh Creek and taking it to Port Augusta?
I did not realize they were Pacific National trains.
Warrioota Creek near Beltana?

Edit. Change that to Windy Creek just south of Leigh Creek town.

When should have recognized the pic straight away as have been up to Leigh Creek for work plenty of times.
Back in 2010 there was heaps of rain around Leigh Creek and through the Flinders and the highway was cut there, I was told by a mate that works at the mine that he saw a car drive the rail bridge to get across the flooded creek.

Gee Kallen, I can see why no one wanted to answer (if I am correct)

Is it Monte Christo Homestead, Junee NSW.
Spooksville Central, reportedly the most haunted home in Australia. (Im scared typing this).
Lots of scary stuff has happened there.
Has been shown on a number of TV shows over the years.

Sure is Cuppa.
This section of Skytrek is now closed.
I don't think the new part of the trek is as good as what the original trek was.
This pic is on the new section where the visitors book can be signed.

I did not know they changed it, been over 10 years since I have been there.

It was changed about 2 years back, apparently that section of the track was not owned by Willow Springs.
They leased it and when the lease was up for renewal the owners wanted a massive increase in the lease fees.
The track now tends to do a loop in a more southerly direction.

Sorry guys.
Yea good one ova50.
Was a great day out and some of the stories is crazy.
We had both our little ones with us and Sophia who was nearly 3 said she saw and old man with a funny hat on in this one room.
Later talking to a grounds keeper she wanted the details for her book as there was a elderly man who wore his top hat everywhere who was killed by a close relation in that room while he slept..

Crazy stuff..
Anyway.. Carry on.. :-D

Ha! Brings back some memories those pics. We got into Birdsville one year at about 9pm at night in the middle of a dust storm. Pulled off the road and headed into a small gully to throw the swags out for the night. Fought madly with the monster prickles that seemed to be everywhere and then crashed out for the night. When we woke in the morning we found ourselves camped in someone's latrine gully with little white mounds of toilet paper randomly scattered about the place. haha.

Try this one.

FNQGU
2nd September 2014, 10:25 PM
Close...Might give it to you though.

This one is further North a bit on Bramwell Station. I can't remember if it was just short of the turn into Bramwell Station itself, or between the turn and Bramwell Junction, but thereabouts anyway. Someone, somehow managed to plonk an empty stubbie on the top of it, which has now been partially built into the top of the mound by the termites.

I'm guessing this one is around 5m+ high?

jack
3rd September 2014, 12:12 AM
Not sure if it's the same one I'm thinking about, I thought it was on the left heading North nearer to Moreton Station. I think it was the tallest one we saw on the trip. I'll post up a pic later.
