    Much awaited GU.

    Hi, my name is Steve.

I’ve been looking for a Patrol tabletops for quite a few years. Bad timing, lack of funds or just bad luck, frustrated me till last week.

I found and jumped on a 2015 Y61 GU Patrol. Straight clean and runs fairly well. Done

Now it’s time to build a decent touring vehicle. I’m going from a 2009 D40 that maxed out weight wise, to a GU with a GVM upgrade to 3900kg.

Could I overload the GU? You bet I could, so I’ll have to be sensible about my build.

Here are some before pics and I will post pics of the build as I progress.

    Thanks for your time,

    Steve

    Hi all,

An update. Drove the GU for 2 weeks, then the gremlins and the parts started to arrive.
Gremlin #1, slit radiator top tank. No real problem…

Gremlin #2, Me and my heavy hand. Broke the retaining studs for the radiator. So I think nutcerts, cool drill out studs fit nutcerts. Well that was going great till I put a drill through the A/C condenser.

Yep so new A/C condenser sourced and waiting to be fitted. 😋

Let’s see what else I can break
