I can now confirm the Mother's product is a winner. After application of 3 coats on the vehicle and the canopy, not a single bird dropping, obviously works like a dome of invisible protection, stopping the poo hitting the protected surface. i commend this Stargate Version product to all that want a forcefield effect from their paint protection system.

The more I read about ceramic coating the more I wonder what's the point of using it. Does not protect against micro scratches from contact washes. Does not protect from tree sap. Does not protect from water spot. Does not protect from bird droppings. I'm sure just about any wax or sealants, or "old" coatings like Opti-Coat would do better than that.

Mooty, its a free world, use whatever you think meets your criteria. For me, having applied waxes and polishes to all varients of cars for over 40 yrs, the Mother's product meets my needs. I am not against using traditional or older school products as long as they offer an advantage. I can attest that this product works against Starline and sparrow poo - had the vehicle in a shed and multiple hits evey night that would damage the fresh paint. Once the paint system was complete - acrylic - the attack on the paint continued until I used this product - turds away they say - happy with the outcome. It does seem to bead well and sheds water fine, but the main reason was to stop the acidic attack on the new paint job. If you find a product that is a wipe or better still spray on surface let me know, totally over the paste on, rub off effort - mothers still requires this, which is a downer for me, but happy so far.
