New member - vin decoder help

    Hi,
My name is PJ and I am about to buy a 1996 patrol.
I live in Qatar, and the Nissan Patrol is a loved and appreciated machine over here.
I am grateful to find this forum and hoping someone can help me. I have tried using a number of different vin decoders but with minimal luck. I am hoping someone can help with some more definitive information...
I would like to know more about the original color and spec of the Patrol I am buying. The vin is JN100KY60Z0850410
    Here is a few pictures...

I can't help you with your quest but that in one nice looking Patrol! If that was here in Australia it wouldn't last five minutes like that before someone would bastardize it to no end.

    Good to know, thanks!

Any idea what it would be worth in Aus? It has done 177k Kms, had about 15k AUD spent in the last 18 months on mechanical refresh including head gasket etc.

The asking price is equivalent to 26.5k AUD.

This is how your Patrol was born in november of 1995. Original color was white, so it has been repainted.

And here is the catalog of parts for when you need to know what is the partnumber for something specific to be able to order correctly:

And it looks gorgeous on this new paint color. Congratulations.

    Thank you very much!
That is really helpful to know.

One last question, should it have had the plastic body/side skirts that I see so often?

I prefer it without, but was curious to if it was only the higher trim levels that would have had them?

The Y60 don't have side skirts from what I know. If you are referring to the plastic trim around the wheel wells, those are called fender flares. Google "nissan patrol y60 fender flares" to see if this is what you are talking about.

In case you mean the fender flares, they do not come in all trim levels. Yours has a trim level of STD (standard) and I suppose it would come on a more fancy trim level. If the car is good and price is right, if you end buying it you can always add the fender flares anyway.

    Thank you for your reply.
I have attached an image of what I meant by side skirts.

Whenever I see two-tone Patrols they all have this side skirt, and I was wondering why this one didn't.

I am guessing that because it was originally white and Standard trim, then it wouldn't have had them. Therefore now it is painted two-tone it looks different without them.

Interestingly the inside of the engine bay isn't white, so either it was repainted properly or the vin information was incorrect (which would be unusual)?

Current owner doesn't know when it was painted.

Anyway if anyone has any explanations - then thank you.1995-Nissan-Patrol-25621-9845618_2~2.jpg
