    Rust repair

    Hey everyone,
I have a few rust spots on my patrol and I am curious about using aluminium mesh and body filler. Does anyone know if this fix is a durable, rust preventive and effective fix for rust spots? The alternative is to cut the rust out and weld a new plate of steel on. After I do fix the rust using one of the two methods I am also wondering if my backyard will be a good enough spot to paint over the rust repair. I am planning on simply using spray cans (using the proper process). Getting this patrol to a shed or spray booth would prove very difficult as it isn’t road worthy so that’s why I am asking if my backyard is suitable to paint the few spots.

    Cheers

There are plenty of threads on here dealing with rust repairs. As an example, this member did some extremely good work. http://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forum...f-rust-repairs
My advice is: not to follow my advice.

As long as its not windy, raining or in full, hot sun, I cannot see why you can't do it outside...
