The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.

First impressions are mixed. I'm a bit apprehensive that the body is plastic, although I guess it would have been ridiculously heavy if it was metal. I make a cut and FK me, effortless and very accurate. On that regard I am thrilled with this tool. Needed to hook up the dust extraction though.
It's actually not as loud as I thought it would be and even has a brake on the motor when it is powered off. Comes with a crosscut guide and even a push stick too which is a bonus.
One more thing, it's bloody massive!
On the whole I'm happy with my purchase.

Looks a Beast Nico Mate
Certainly fits the tool trolley top very well too!
Dust extraction wise, consider this 1hp 10ampy convenient Carbatec bargain Mate:

Those Carbatec units are great, but they have a 100mm hose. Perfect if your machine has the same size attachment.
I tried adding a reducer to a 50mm hose to connect it to my drop saw and the Carbatec didn't inflate the bag and create the proper vortex for normal operation. Suction was almost nonexistent.

I ended up getting a Ryobi 30L wet dry vac to use on the drop saw.
You'd definitely need something bigger for use with a thicknesser.
Well I'm very very happy now with both the saw and the thicknesser. Yes, for the perfectionist out there, it isn't buzzed and therefore not perfectly straight but I can only make do with the tools I have. This is naturally seasoned messmate from the bush across from mine, intended to become a coat hook with old railway pins mounted when it's finished. Stoked with how easy it was to get the timber to this stage and how quickly too.
