8 and a half acres. She's long and narrow, that track is our land and wasnt there when we moved in. There was an overgrown track coming down from the other side of the dam which I assume was put in at the same time. Got it linked up years ago and probably best thing we've done to the property i reckon sooo much more useable. .

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever. WARNING: Towballs used for recoveries can, and do kill people and damage property.
Bwahah, yeah did actually drive straight down the gully before had the track in the GQ was sketchy AF. Was in winter and I think from memory was going to do it with a trailer to get some wood bloody glad I didn't lol . . .
I've got another planter box to put on the other side and will need more timber. If I use the old ones, with an oil based stain will it all be the same colour?

Has been a nightmare_Concrete Water Tank repairs, finished yesterday(took best part of 10 days full time).
In May 20 had 3 x 120,000 litre concrete water tanks poured, originally wanted only two (water reserve for fire fighting and irrigation for vegies_gravity feed 20m), but the 2nd pour (on hill) was real suss as mix was going off (the formwork not ready in time). Resulted in large pockets in wall (could see wall mesh).
These contractors were crap in my life, they offered to repair the suss tank and pour a third free, and so we did but at the end of the day all 3 leaked. Was so pis...ed off with the whole deal(lots of $$$s), they stuffed about with me so much, I ended up getting them to supply $1500 worth materials and did the repair job myself (locked the gate).
These tanks are 8.5m dia x 2.4m (h). Repair consisted: one repaired from outside as it was 3/4 full with rainwater_success), two on the hill consisted of patching up honey come defects / holes inside and then applying (brush/boom) water proofing cement based coating to entire walls/floors.
Came up pretty well and now just need to wait few week to completely cure and then fill with dam water(excess solar pwr_fill nom 24hrs each).

Some very inspiring projects there Gentlemen, all looking really great
@jaysee John Mate, just noticed these in an Aldi catalogue on sale next Saturday possibly of interest for your bench as bum warmers....essential grocery shopping within 5kms too of course :-)
Don't think there was a topic, so there's one now.
Time to give this welder a bit of a run.
Cut up a heap of steel at work this morning. First project was a gill for the spit.
Next is a bench to replace the rotten timber one that knocked down. Pics to come.

Hi John I made a similar one years ago using solid rod like you,
can I suggest yo weld some smaller rod underneath to keep them from warping
and they will. looks great btw
youll need some old cast iron sparrow beak kettle for that out side brazier.
just a thought, love that seat.
