Thought I'd share my gullwings for some inspiration
Nice and simple, just 4mm ally sheet (for inside the GQ solid cargo rubber) and 3mm for the hinge door and some 10mm offset hinges IMG_20200830_180136.jpgIMG20200830165026.jpg

Don't take life too seriously. No one gets out alive.
I see! The 4mm replaces the glass and then you hinge off that. Nice! Something I want on my GU...
Yep, simple and watertight

04 ST 3lt auto, not enough Mods to keep me happy, but getting there
This is such a high quality looking job. All in, how much did the two wings cost you?
I’d like to do this to my patrol in the near future. How did you secure the 4mm glass replacement sheet?
Did you cut and spray the sheet yourself?
Any info is much appreciated
Ally sheet was free which I cut into shape and powder coating also free through work, 4mm glass replacement peice was secured with the same rubber you use for the glass.
Hinges were about $60 all up I recon
Was thinking about getting some Lazer cut and selling them

My take on the inspiration of Ben89
Removed the passengers side sliding window - no rust great
IMG_4454.JPG
mounted the new rubber seal and measured many times and use glass panels for radius corners and cut a 4mm sheet and test fitted

On to the drivers side and repeated the process to include the "door" also no rust

A couple of things I did differently to Ben89, the locks I used can be closed without a key but still lockable but not waterproof and I cut the "frame" so the pinch weld seal passed between the lower mounting screw and upper mounting screws of the hinge. I did not get this quite right as the upper mount screws still just catch the pinch weld seal so at the moment I have eased the pinch weld down a small amount as can be seen in the last picture. In the process of doing the passengers side and have allowed a bit more clearance. The offset hinges I used did not have enough offset so had to block them out by 5mm. Have not had the vehicle out on the road yet to see if there is any wind noise.
Cheers Trevor
