Was going to buy the wife a cushion for Xmas, but decided she had enough, so made a donation to the Fred Hollows Foundation instead and 'bought her the gift of 10 eye treatments' - give it a thought people, its a wonderful thought to know you are changing a persons life by restoring their sight - much better than another possession.
I got red dust in my veins.

Bought some new Sand Tracks. No name brand ones but bloody hell are these got some weight to them. Much thicker and heavier than my other cheap ones I lent out to my Chiro. They even have replaceable tread nobbie things which a full replacement came with them. For a $100 I am quite pleased with these. I nearly bought some Max Trax from Autobarn but thought to just look at these first. Just as well I did.

I like the look of those. I have 4 maxtrax's, but the generation 2 style with the non replaceable lugs. I see what some of the 'animals' on site in the mine do to their max trax, especially the enviro's as they get out and about, totally off the road and they smash and melt theirs - no doubt not a lot of 4wd experience or tyre deflation going on - so going for a cheaper generic will probably do exactly the same job I reckon.
I think you meant to say you used to have 4 maxtracks thanks again Philstar :-)

Righto, if that's the way it goes, well I don't use them anyway! How did you go with the radio fitting? I need to pick up some fittings for a pump tomorrow, so will be out and about, happy to swing past jaycar in Ferntree Gully and pick you up the bit and drop it across, probably would find the fittings at a store in Yarra Glen as opposed to Knox? let me know.

I bought a Piranha Super Loom and Driving light loom to update the original 'super loom ' I had in the vehicle. When I removed the original upgrade loom I noticed it wasn't much bigger in wire size than the original. Anyway, the first loom is installed, and the driving light loom is tomorrow with luck. Running all the power thru the step up transformer to 28V, so with luck the dark black wet roads will be a treat to travel on compared to previous. Bit of monkey work to incorporate the roof rack light bar into the loom though. It runs via a 100amp relay, so have to think that thru.
Also, I bought a box of these sexy wire joiners with a lead slug in the middle. You push the cables thru the joiner and heat it up with a ciggy lighter or similar and the solder fuses the cable and the outer seals down like a heat shrunk tube.Cable Joiner 1.JPGCable Joiner 2.JPGSuper Loom.JPG
