Is there a difference between the efi 4.2L automatic gearbox's ?? I have a 89 auto a 96 auto and a 97 auto the 89 has popped something inside and it will no longer go into 4th or overdrive i was wondering if i could use one of the others in my 89 ?
The later TB42 EFI models had the ribbed bellhousing and larger torque converter like the TB45E and it’s a better box but might require swapping the flexplate as well.
