    GQ/GU- Y60-Y61 - TD42/T/i Pumps 10/11..12mm?

    G’day NP.com.au good folks!
Honest nuffy question, how does one tell/identify their diesel injector pump stock sizes?

Part number might help determine which is which

The Ti pump has an electrical plug at the bottom of the pump, the bracket to hold the back of the pump is also different, it has a relief cast into it to suit the plug
Just another Blue over Silver GQ with another TD conversion

    Cheers Dave Mate!
Personally/thankfully never needed to ring them (Nissan) to date, is there a number somewhere on their stock castings maybe?

Assuming the vehicle is unmodified in that department from new, would the VIN be sufficient to enquire with Nissan?

When I pulled my pump off there was a sticker on it with the part number on the body of the injector pump

As far as I know, all GQ use 10mm, GU N/A and factory turbo use 10mm and only the factory Turbo intercooled models use 11mm. 12mm is an aftermarket option.

    Thanks Gents, appreciated!
Rang Nissan with the VIN and only got a part number: 16700VB920
Being a stock rocket TD42T it must only be a 10mm then thanks @mudski mate!

Not sure why you were asking but for your info mate, when i spoke too ufi about getting a pump built they said there's no difference in performance compared to plunger size. As in, a pump setup for 200hp in 11mm won't show any difference to a 12mm setup the same on a dyno. 12mm is only needed when shooting higher than the 11mm will allow.

From what I know all factory turbo motors have the 11mm pump.

    Thanks again Gents,
Main reason for query is that Mrs MB is saving like crazy for a new much bigger horse float. Loaded up with nags in the back and front kitchenette/sleeper will see it nudging the poor old family GU wagon TD42T 3,500kg towing capacity. She would love a Y62 which would sh#t it in no doubt but we really cannot borrow/afford one for a good while.
Was hoping for now to squeeze on the cheap an extra say 20% more go out of the old TD42T by converting it to a TD42Ti.
EGT’s on the intercoolerless TD42T will known skyrocket trying to haul 3.5T through our mountainous home region.
    Cheers!
