    As for the OP. I would suggest putting it all back to how its supposed to be. Who ever owned before you has butchered it. I have never heard of any hoses rubbing against the alternator aswell. Seems to me that's simply a disorganised cooling system setup. In regards to the TD and overheating issues. If yours is completely stock, and the cooling system is setup and working as it should, you have no concerns. The overheating issue is more for TD with bigger pumps and turbo pushing for bigger HP.
