94 GQ Patrol 4.2 Diesel LWB
Just fitted 3" springs and shocks, drop boxes, adjustable panhards, 16mm longer lower control arms, and adjustable upper control arms.
Started the car after fitting to go for a test run, and have this ultra loud vibration that sounds like it's coming from under the dash. This is happening while the car is stationary.
Sometimes if I push in the clutch or the brake, the vibration stops briefly, and sometimes it stops while just holding the clutch in.
Vibration is still there while driving as well.
Just wondering if anyone out there has a suggestion for something that I may have missed, or something else that needs to be done that isn't listed.
Problem has been solved.
If anyone else ever has the same problem, this is what happened.
When the drop boxes go in, the transmission bracket is lowered 6mm.
The air filter box is only a couple of mm from the firewall, so when the motor tilted a couple of mm, the air filter box was sitting against the firewall.
And that's where the vibration came from.
The reason it stopped when I pushed in the brake or clutch, I was on an ever so slight hill, so when I pulled the handbrake on, it was enough to shift the air filter box off the firewall. So it wasn't the clutch or brake at all.
