They aren't worth it in a gq anyway because of the stereo location. I had one in my first gq and it was a waste of time.

Starter motor cost $45 to replace brushes and a clean (I pulled it apart ) and now the old girl starts like new and first pop , symptoms were excessive cranking to start , blowing white smoke when starting and sometimes black smoke and was worse to start as the motor heated up .
Brushes were worn so much the spring tension was next to nothing .
Although to me it was cranking like normal just took longer to start the proof is in the pudding .
