It's pretty distinct but obviously a lesser travelled area.. photos don't do it justice, only had my phone on this trip.

I assume Mintabie is the community that closed. I remember seeing hills along the road after leaving Mimili and around Amata.

I haven't had an answer for several days, I will assume I was close enough or it could also be near Ernabella, Fregon, Indulkana, Kalka/Pipalyatjara.
Went through all these towns a couple of years ago for work and saw plenty of rock formations like the one put up.

Will post a new photo.

Don't know how I missed the last comments I've been checking most days. Sorry again. It's none of those and has it's own name. It's kinda in the same area as you're talking but you have to leave the main track and head south between Murputja and Pip.

It's Mount Lindsay. Watarru sits at the base and was a ghost town when I went through. Bit odd to see really. Fully functional community, school, shops houses everywhere but not a soul in sight.
