so my plan of attack will be,
*repack wheel bearings and tighten if needed
*replace steering dampener (mudski do you recomend a brand of the return to centre one)
*Adjustable draglink + wheel allignment but this might wait abit because id like 2 new tyres.

Yeah front wheel bearing not tight enough was the major cause for my wobbles. Plus crappy balanced wheels. Steering dampener, I bought a Tough dog one. How good it is, compared to other brands, dunno. It works. There is a bit of stuffing around to set them up at the start as you need to set the spring length etc etc. you may also need a mounting bracket for the dampener if your drag link does not have one too.

If you're getting the wobbles, You may find them being masked by fitting an RTC damper. Better off sorting out the wobbles before fitting the RTC..... My opinion only.

An RTC wont fix the wobbles. Only the drifting left issue. As the spring on the dampener holds the steering wheel centre.

my wobble issues aren't that bad really, they were worse before tightening the wheel bearings 10-15,000km ago. im thinking the bearings could even be abit worn due to lack of servicing to them.
from what your saying mudski i cant wait to get a RTC dampener lol i've put up with pulling left since i go the gu. previous car was a t31 xtrail so it drove like a car not a truck lol.

I know it doesn't fix the wobbles. Never said it did. Only said it can mask the wobbles. It masked mine on me old GQ and has been mentioned by others on here..... Personally, I like the RTC dampers, some folk don't.

RTC only have one purpose, to centre your steering wheel, hence being called Return To Centre. Many say its a band aid, but, imo, they are just following the line of sheep to the trough. Until there is a 'real' fix. This worked on mine. And well. Im happy to be shown othwerwise as a lighter steering wheel would be nice in my Patrol.

Cant remember the part number mate. The dampener was eye/eye, but one end had a pin arrangement in the eye, for my particular model. As there is different dampeners through out the GU1, 2 and 3's.

yeh ive heard the dampeners mount differently from series to series, mine is 2008 crd series 6 i think

I’d like to say since repacking tightening my front wheel bearings I have no wobbles
Also notice front pads are abit low so I will do that next week before spending money on a dampener.
