If I'm able to, I'll meet you at the airport. The only major issue is that I'll have to take off all my aerials, or I won't get into the carparks. lol.

We're staying in East freo about a block away from the river near whatever the bridge is called that the Stirling hwy goes over.

just found out i will be in fremantle on the 27th and a bit of the 28th.....have to come up tio the big smoke and pick up our daughter off the sailing ship,...Leeuwin......look it up
might meet ya 28th for brekie if ya keen,yeah i can have a drink for brekkie,,,but just this once

Has anybody mentioned the Left Bank Hotel? Does it still exist? When I was living there back in the 90's it pumped on a Sunday but you could have played bocce in the bar on Saturday! West Aussies love a Sunday sesh!! Was a great place to get on it in my early 20's but 43 now so probably would choose something less hectic now.

Railway Hotel on Tydeman Road used to be an early opener Avo (maybe still is?). Used to drop in for "brekky" after night shift on North Wharf (bacon and egg rolls and 4 stubbies!) then ride home to Salter Point, have another 4 stubbies in the pool then in bed about 10am!! Great memories haha!

Edit: Just looked it up....North Mole, not North Wharf, Birksgate Road to be exact. Now Macrofertil Australia but was once Coflexip Stena Offshore making oil and gas rig flexible pipelines.

Haha, I'm not sure if this is a coincidence but the only pub I looked at (which is the closest to where we'll be) is called The Left Bank. Seems a bit more up market now though plassy so they probably wouldn't let you in anyway

Haha, I'm not sure if this is a coincidence but the only pub I looked at (which is the closest to where we'll be) is called The Left Bank. Seems a bit more up market now though plassy so they probably wouldn't let you in anyway

Whatever you do, make sure you have a beer at a pub while watching the sun set over the ocean (us east/south coasters don't see that often). You wont see that from the Left Bank in Freo but the Cottesloe Hotel has my fond memories of this and just up the road a bit from Freo.

Yeah that's the place. 20 years on from when I was there though but was an upmarket place even back then. Whatever you do, make sure you have a beer at a pub while watching the sun set over the ocean (us east/south coasters don't see that often). You wont see that from the Left Bank in Freo but the Cottesloe Hotel has my fond memories of this and just up the road a bit from Freo.

I will do! But there is a lot of ocean in all directions here 😉
