Stretch is having a problem with a fuse blowing

Has had an issue of bumper tail lights, stereo backlight, dash cluster light blowing. Only one fuse blowing. Tail light fuse 10A
Aftermarket light have been totally dismantled and not connected.
    I thought it was that.

    But blow again today.
    Has blown several time.
    Tail lights checked and tested.

Circuit tested at 3amps on the 10A fuse.

Thought we found and exposed wire but was a dead end again.
    Any thoughts please

    Only getting second hand info.

Blown several times during a period of time.
    No new accessories fitted.

Found intercooler fan disconnected and re fitted. Not related I assume.

    And before you ask, it's a 3lt.
And don't tell me that's the problem.

Why is multiple items on the one fuse when fuse box just says tail light.

Yeah id go straight to the Trailer plug too. 9 out of 10 times it will be there or in the line going to there. The tail light fuse is the Parker light fuse so its your parkers and dash. Bastard of a thing to fault find as it goes everywhere! The most obvious will be the Trailer plug then id go to the Front parker lights and Bull bar parkers next as they tend to be most exposed.

Also the loom hanging down behind both back wheels going to the parkers in the rear bumper take a hammering, especially if you don't have big enough mud flaps. much more likely to be the trailer plug or 1 of the 4 corners than behind the dash or other accessory if you have not aded anything.

From there id go to the accessories that are after market and see what has been spliced into the loom to pic up the dash light circuit and go there. Any lit switches or accessories that light up with the dash lights.

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.

Has there been any recent work or anything fitted.?
So it just "happened" out of the blue.
As MR say the trailer plug is a good place to start
most time they will squash wires if not fitted correctly.
04 ST 3lt auto, not enough Mods to keep me happy, but getting there

    Trailer plug checked and cleared.
Didn't even think to go to the front Parker lights. Good thinking.

Checked all the tail light wiring back to the wheels.

Aftermarket tail light were fitted but removed from circuit.

LaSt thing fitted was the brake controller module but that was a couple years ago.

In the engine bay would only be the intercooler fan which I can check all the way back to source.

    Thanx Daz, that's great

I'll have to go over the car again but clear everything that might be attached.

Ha ha. Brain fart time. If all else fails, try changing the bayonet style globes. I have come across some that have shorted out in the base.
