Electrical Strangeness

I'm posting just in case these may be known issues.

1 - My intermittant wipers speed up. I notice this sometimes when I switch them onto the fastest or shortest time setting. They start off slowly then speed up on their own until they get to the correct speed. Is there any rain sensing stuff on any of the Y61s?

2 - The central locking locks itself. This happens when the motor is running, I've only noticed it happen when someone is sitting in the drivers seat. Doesn't do it all the time, but does it often enough for me to ask about it here.

I have a 2013 ST.

Bugger. I just drove past your place on my way home from Bendigo. Do the wipers start off slowly when switched on normally? Is there something mentioned about the timing or rain sensing in the owners manual?

When you say the intermittent wipers speed up, does the dwell time get shorter or does the speed of the action increase?
Patrols are too agricultural to have rain/speed sensing wipers.
The only time my central locking has done anything like that is when the spare key is in my pocket and accidentally activated.

When switched to the shortest dwell (that's the word I was looking for) time, they sometimes dwell for a period longer than the shortest time and then eventually get to the correct time. It's an intermittant thing.

That combined with the central locking locking itself every once in a while has me wondering about the electrics a bit. It's an ex cop car, so I wonder if something was changed somewhere that wasn't put back when it became a non cop car??

Another thing with the central locking, when it's locked, no one can get out from inside, you have push the button on the drivers door to unlock. I thought you would be able to get out from the inside once it was locked??

I would be looking at the dwell selector for dirty contacts.
Does the interior light operate properly with door switches?
I could be re-locking if it does not detect a door opening.
