It's more like a glass face then a jaw. The bone in question is the maxilla, which is the bone holding the upper teeth in place and sits behind the nasal area.
I sort of got diagnosed with it, about 15 years ago. It's a calcium deficiency to that area, making it very weak.
It baffled dentists and surgeons for a while as my bottom teeth are perfect and they couldn't' work out why. The top teeth are weak and rotting from inside out. Yes, I'm a (and look like ) a Collingwood supporter, due to this.
From younger age, always kept a stringent teeth cleaning process every day, never drank soft drinks etc, but top teeth began cracking etc... And that was a first sign, and then it went downhill from there.
The real issue was, that after they sort of found out what the issue was, NO dentist had the balls to touch or work on my upper teeth, because any decent drill or a tug could literally crack the tooth and the bone it was attached to. So therefore I had issues finding a dentist who was willing to fix cavities etc...
And yeah been living like that ever since.
I eat everything normally and it doesn't affect it at all, but it took a huge toll on self confidence as well, as I began being hesitant to smile due to it. I looked like a crack addict from Footscray.
The infection I copped a few weeks ago is gone due to antibodies, but process is in place now to try and fix this further and will see what the outcome is.
