D-gas system for zd30 stay or go?

so i purchased my 2003 series 3 gu zd30 patrol 3years ago now and have some good motoring out of it , when purchased it had been fitted with a D_GAS gas injection system .On purchase of the gu the previous owner told me he had it fitted in 2008. he used gu to go from perth to darwin and the kimberly trips
and when back in perth the fuel pump shit its self so he had that rebuilt . From the time after the fuel pump rebuild the d-gas system then started to play up (were his exact words). so i stopped using it and being the installer D GAS DIESEL ENHANCEMENTS in malaga perth has gone out of busisness had no other option to stop using it . he told me that he took it to a nuther gas mob and they told him the fuel pump rebuild was the issue and it all needed re calibrating
So i have never used the system apart from a quick flick of the switch to see what would happen?
What happend was it ran extreamly rough and pinged its head off and shook the hell out of the car .
SO the question is what to do its been on the car for 3 years and hasent been used still with 20L odd of gas in tank still im wanting to get more room back in engine bay so i can fit catch can and nads stuff in there and have new redback 3inch exhaust to fit as well (exhaust has been modified to fit gas tank)
so do i remove and try to sell? (what would it be worth ? have recipts from previous owner of $3795 when fitted)
or do i try to get it looked at and keep ?
I anyone out there has any experiance or ideas feel free to comment

    Thanks Caveman

mate, get the system looked at by Joondalup 4x4
Address: 4 Packard St, Joondalup WA 6027
    Phone: (08) 9301 5221

I took mine in last year for pretty much the same reasons, and mine was leaking gas as well
they fitted a new improved setup for the D Gas system
it was originally a "pulse" setup for the gas, now it only kicks in over 5lb of boost

now, when I turn the gas on, it turns my 4.2 from a slug to a (sort of) rocket ship - to me anyway

Cheeres Bigcol for the info will have to give them a call, As im in gero 5 hours drive away and have a chat with them and try to come to sum sort of decision on what to do?
I have a redback 3 inch exhaust and a new intercooler (welded one) and a dawes valve and boost control valve ,boost gauge , pyro gauge , and catch can all waiting to go on as well, also was thinking of going with a chip or module of some description . dont know if that will all work with the gas system things i need more info on definatley.

you wont need the chip if you get the gas sorted

get your Boost & EGTs (Pyro) fitted first
then when you fit up the Dawes etc you can then see the noticeable difference

get all your goodies fitted up first, then get the gas done

you wont know the car afterwards

Not to not get things wrong but having D-gas on a 3ltr ,its only a 3ltr fcol,,, I can see a 4.2 needing it
but its an extra fuel ,not for me Im afraid.
Im getting 12 around town and 15 on the hwy towing, which I think are reasonable figures for a 3ltr Auto
Never been a fan of D-gas conversions

Remove it and sell it for what you can

So thats one for and one against the D-gas system , unfortunatly i have never had the oportunity to use the D-gas to get a opinion on it ? I have heard that it does make temps go up and engines run hot ,and that cant be good for a zd30 ! My main reason for sorting this out like many zd30s it aint got much go-go, temps come up going up hills ,overtaking is a challenge most times and thats just with the car with 4 people in it and camping gear . Would like to be able to tow a campertrailer and or boat and know that its not going to be a struggle .Exhaust and intercooler +nads gear will all be on next week,

Slow revving 'mechanically' managed engines like TD42s thrive on Dgas

The ZD30 on the other hand does better with a Chip/ECU remap, Exhaust mods and improved intercooling.
All of which work 24/7 not for a few hundred K's until the LPG runs out

Sell the Dgas and put the $ towards other mods on the ZD IMHO

Dolphins are so smart that within a few weeks of captivity, they can train people to stand on the very edge of the pool and throw them fish.

the theory is - or was - that by adding a small shot of Gas while running (as gas burns at 110%) it would help keep the engine internals clean from carbon build up
also, as it is a fuel that burns at 110%, it would aid in the power stroke of the diesel - more bang per buck so to speak

dont forget, DGas & Diesel Gas were all the rage because you couldn't get a chip for the 3L, unless you imported them from Italy(and even then, it was for a 3L Fiat not a Patrol)

the early TD42 (like mine) works with the Gas as there is NO Computers in my Car, so even if I could get a chip for it (now they ARE available for the later models) it wouldnt work, as I dont have a computer run motor

    as an example
    - if I run my TD42 to and from work for a week - works out at 13.9L/100 - $60.00 diesel
    - if I run my TD42 to and from work with the gas on for a week - works out at 12.5L/100 - $38.00 diesel & $12.00 gas

so its cheaper to run with the gas on, and I get better economy, and for a TD42, thats great economy
