I did that same trip in '83 mind blowing imho.
We had a G60 3 speed work truck top speed 90kph.
A few guys took it to the Gulf again an epic journey 27 flat tyres [bar treads] at the time
that was just on the way up.....lol

And if your a few kilo too heavy or a couple of cm too high and your not a manufacturer, your gonna get a canary. If your a manufacturer it's ok to be dangerous, or in VW's case above emission limits? OK I understand now.

Here another fun one. It still amazes me how many people go out with near stock 4bys. Well with ill equipped tyres at the least.

This video actually gave me some ideas on what extra tools to take though. Quite good.

The very first hill in that vid is the top of my bucket list. It's about 40min from mum and dads.
