But only for the first few tyres. I think they would really benifit from a tank..
Did you find it struggling after a few tyres , have you aired up 4 at a time??

It'll probably be fine for 31" tyres but yea the 4th 33 took a noticeable amount longer.
But yea tank will be a huge help..
    But I won't have a tank..
    You'll all see..

Do you think a tank would help that much for inflating tyres?

Well if you flick it on before you get to your air up destination then yea it'll help. You'll have 'x' L capacity at 110 psi so depending on your capacity you may get a tyre pumped up before the compressor kicks in again.. so it's had time to cool again and is more efficient for the others..
    Cheers

Would there be enough air in a tank to inflate a tyre? It wouldn't stay at 110 PSI though, as soon as some air is released then the pressure starts to drop yeah?

Yeah it does. Most tanks that are able to be fitted to a 4wd would be lucky to fill one tyre. But as it has been said if the pump is struggling after 3 then it will make its life a little easier come air up time.

Had a 600mm by 150mm tank in the other 4x4 helped heaps with my Big Balls 3/4hp pump.
Son is selling it soon so Ill see if I can grab that pump and air tank, doubt it though.
Would this pump keep up with the air thats going into a tyre, its pumps big numbers.
    7 cfm I think

Yea it does.. but we only inflate to 38-40psi..
So by having a reserve of air at a higher pressure you've got an advantage.

What pressure does the pump go up to? I would have thought 110 would be fairly high for one of those?

It is swings and roundabouts... there is no exact answer as there are too many variables such as tank volume, tyre size, road pressures etc

No tank means the Air Compressor is starting to pump at, say 18 PSI so high flow and finishes at, say 36 PSI so med flow and lower overall load.
With tank means the Air Compressor is trying to pump the tank up to say 115 PSI which means low flow and higher load from 36 PSI upwards.
If the tank drops to say 30 PSI during inflation now the Air Comp is trying to 'inflate' the tyre and the tank so needs even more volume.
Yes, that 'extra' air goes into the next tyre but it was generated at a higher efficiency cost

A tank is at it's best advantage as an accumulator for higher volume use such as air tools etc where the tank is high pressure and the offtake is regulated low pressure.
Also great for air horns, lockers or a quick top up say from 12 back to 16 just using teh accumulated volumes

Dolphins are so smart that within a few weeks of captivity, they can train people to stand on the very edge of the pool and throw them fish.
