Jeezus, lucus... that leaves my 3 step detailing method in last place...
1. Exterior - Wait till BOM forecasts 80% chance or rain or higher and park car outside for duration
(note, remove antenna if lightning forecast)
2. Interior - Next time an air flow is available equivalent to the vehicle driven at a speed of 100 KPH or more (TD42 Owners may need to find a steep downhill run and 2.8's will have to wait for cyclone season) fully open all 4 windows simultaneously for 30 seconds.
3. Windscreen Glass - that difficult to remove gum residue from Canarys' can easily be covered over by Aus Flag, Eureka or Ned Kelly stickers from Super cheap.
Other glass - don't bother, the natural buildup has several purposes
a) its free
b) its compliant with ADR tinting regs so reduces Windscreen glass gum residue
c) it is 5 star eco friendly rating with no additives, preservatives, toxic substance or harmful side effects
d) passengers and kids who get bored can doodle on it for hours
(note - avoid derogatory doodling about mermaids or coppers as it increases the likelyhood of windscreen glass gum residue but
Vegans, Prados, Greenies and anti-stick family themes are all fair game)
I try and do all the above at least once in the time I own a Car
