Sounds like you need to get a Scan-Gauge,

Fitted an in cab switch for the winch..

Now i dont have to scramble for the controller when in a hurry while the car sinks into a big bog hole or is hung up on a steep hill climb.

I wouldn't stress mate. Blokes have been running HD for a long time with no issues..
I think you'd shear the thread before snapping the hub..

Yeah long over due... did this mod in my hilux and was very handy but got lazy when it came to doing it in the patrol.
