Problem with new adjustable panhard rod

Ordered an Ironman adjustable front panhard rod for my 99 GU and when I went to fit it today I noticed that the bracket for the steering dampner was not in the same location (see photo) as the original. It was about 2.5cm closer than the factory original, thus putting my steering dampner at a weird angle and compressed more than it should be - not allowing for full turn radius.

Anyone else run into this? According to the Ironman catalogue, this is the right model for my Patrol (PANHARD008) for pre-2/2000 models and mine is a '99, with a factory release date of 08/1998.

Obviously I'm taking it back to try to get a refund or exchange, but I would like to replace the factory panhard with a good quality aftermarket. Need some advice.

I'd say it's shorter due to most people go adjustable due to needing a longer rod. So bracket is moved down to compensate.
I'd suggest grab one with no bracket and grab a clamp on bracket. Then you put it where it's needed..
