    That dosnt help at all.

If you have a larger turbo and pump the boost falling away isnt right and could be cause by a number of things.
If it is a smaller turbo that works in the low rpm, then yes, it will fall over in the higher rpm,
A bit of smoke off boost is normal, you need fuel to make heat, heat to make exhaust gas velocity, velocity to make boost,
Too much smoke isn't right and could be tune related, amongst other things

put some injector cleaner threw it.
and not sca cleaner, stick with a brand name if possible.
and if they recommend doubling the dose for faster better clean don't hesitate doing so.
    check your air filter also.
    IF IT'S NOT A NISSAN.
    THEN IT'S A COMPROMISE

Mine will do 4500.... but that's low second.. and that's about where the red line starts on the tacho. .
It's bloody screaming when up there so I don't do it for long.
But I have no power so any big sand hills..
It sits on 3000 happy as when towing up long hills. It's usually in 3rd high and 60-70km/h.. again. No power so need to use rpm..

Even with a schwitzer turbo mine used to run out of grunt at about 2 to 2500 rpm. Somewhat embarrassing.

Amazing what a difference there is if one replaces all the rubber fuel lines before the fuel filter so the engine does not get to suck air into the lines at higher revs.
Apparently the fuel pump didn't like air bubbles mixed in with the fuel either!

My mechanic has nearly finished his 4.2 rebuild and he is expecting 6 to 6500 rpm. I'll continue to accept my 4 to 4500 rpm and save a heap of $s.

The old rubber fuel lines looked good to me but I guess thats why the guy who services mine services mine.

    Cheers

My redline on my dash starts at one notch over 4500, so I'm guessing it's either 4500 or 4600.

Yeah, but your needle doesn't move 'cause it's rusted stuck to the zero stop (tish boom)
