Wow it's petty cheap too. Only $10 a can at bunnings! I have already bought Repco brand Enamel in a rattle can for $17 a can less 30% last week so will stick with it. Maybe look at that next time depending how this stuff lays.

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.

So I have neglected this thread a little. Pace is slow but been doing other things.

Guards are fine and waiting for a final rub and paint.

Finally got around to dealing with the body lift. This is a massive job and one I have been not looking forward to. All the bar work is to suit the body lift! Sliders, rear bar, front shock towers. Damn!!

What a bastard these where to remove. The bolt is 18mm!! WTF!!! Who has an 18mm anything!!!! I had to go and buy a single socket to suit! No f'ing idea how I fitted them last time without an 18mm socket????

Next is the rear bar. Bloody hell! I made it Good!! No less than 14 bolts hold on the rear bar!!

Notice I have welded a row of nuts across the back for extra fixing points. My rear bar is also my recovery bar as I don't have a towbar fitted. I well and truly Over a Engineered my bar but confident it won't break.! Lol

Today was body lift reduction day.

Kallen made a set of 20mm body blocks about 12months ago for me and I have finally got around to fitting them. I had to buy a new set of bolts as mine were all to long.

I have lifted my front shock towers to accommodate longer front shocks do I drilled a 50mm hole in the top of the inner guard so I can still get to the top of the shock if I need to remove one any time.

So jacked up the body on both sides. Some of the bolts were a bastard to remove but got them all finally.

All done. 30mm drop. Need to tighten all the bolts now, will get to them tomorrow Arvo.

Damn!! I can't shut the bonnet!!! Need to make an adjustment to my intercooler setup. Bugger it.

    How far off is it?

Raise rear bonnet to avoid modding the mounts?

Yeah it hits by a bit damn it. I have a bit of room to move the back of the heat exchanger down which I will have to do. The radiator section connected to the bonnet needs to be replaced as its holed anyway. The fans have been removed and can't be refitted. The back angle team hits first so might be able to take some of the rib out. Fun a be close though.

My car is too big and removing some of the body lift gives me back 30mm straight away. The 20mm blocks almost look factory too so I might not get pinned for a body lift which is now illegal in Vic I am told.it was legal when I fitted it.
