    Looking for ideas.....proposal

Hey all, sorry I don't get much of a chance to contribute to this forum as often as I'd like to. Anyway I've got a slight dilemma. I'm planning to ask my girlfriend to marry me. I'm not entirely stuck for romantic ideas but I just want to ask for your feedback on my ideas or offer some of your own. I want to make her feel like the most special woman in the world & I don't want to do it only to think of something later that I could have done better.

We live in Perth. Budget isn't important $500-2000 depending on whether its a night out with limo, night at a hotel or if we go away for a weekend. I have a boat but she gets motion sickness so a river cruise is out. She's a difficult customer because she hates surprises to the point where she'll refuse to go until she knows where I'm taking her. She knows I'm thinking about doing this but she doesn't know when. She likes Kings Park but I kind of feel that's a little cliche'.

We do have a favorite restaurant. She can be fussy & I know she'd probably want to choose her own ring which makes things harder. She does have a ring I gave her which I could offer to get cleaned & then use that to ask her to marry me. But then I thought of presenting her with a gift voucher from a jeweler, which can open up a lot of unique ways of proposing. Please be specific with suggestions. The options are endless. Here are some of my ideas so far:

*Taxi to dinner, Limo from dinner to kings park & then home or movie or something.
*After a relaxing afternoon go to restaurant, get down on one knee & present her ring or a 20c vending machine ring in a plastic ball with the gift voucher inside.
*Print up a clever fake cocktail menu that has a drink called 'will you marry me' & slip it inside the drinks menu at a restaurant, along with the ring gift voucher. The ingredients of every drink could have some random ingredient like love, devotion, commitment, intimacy, diamond, gold, etc etc

How ever you decide, just do something she likes. Not what you think she likes..
I have no comment as my hubby doesnt have a romantic bone in his body.

I dont think anyone can answer for you. You are the only one that knows what will make her happy.. Posh restaurant or picnic by the river ? The big banner at a live event or her favorite website ? No corny jokes and good luck..

take her to rotto and whew her....write in in sand....some oysters and a candle(lit of course)...be warned you may have to marry her where you proposed....so don't make it to fancy cause you'll have to top it soon..lol
I took my misses to the shop and we picked the ring together..
then the fun began...for 3 days I went out for brekkie, lunch and tea...
and for every one of them meals she got dolled up,expecting me to pop the question, until I couldn't bear it and hit her with the question....

if you hand her a 20c vending machine(with voucher)you may be dead before she find voucher....women can be touchy some times
Watch this space, as there maybe a comment added soon

The more you spoil her, the more you make her feel special the more she will expect it when you marry.
Give her nothing and just be yourself.
    Worked wonders for me.

    What if she says no?

That's what mine did when I asked her 40 odd years ago; just because she reckoned I had had a few too many to drink. Mind you she did say yes eventually and we are still married.

If your going to ask her to marry you, you should know where what and how is going to work because you know her; don't you?

IMHO if she has as many foibles as you describe perhaps you should wait a while longer before you commit.
No matter what anyone has said to you what you see is what you and she are stuck with neither you nor she will change much in the future. If in doubt wait a while longer.

    Good luck anyhow
