    BROWNY TD42 Wagon!

Well i recently decided it was time for an upgrade from my 3L Navara and settled with this 1998 Patrol converted from 2.8 to 4.2!

    image1.jpgimage4.jpg

Came with a few goodies, roof basket, light bar, dual batteries, pyro/boost guages.

But i already wanted more! So of course some new shoes were in order!

3" lift and snorkel were ordered. Window tint was done!

Snorkel got fitted and its maiden voyage was a wet one at Toolangi!

Finally got around to fitting the 3" lift a few weeks later. Kit included Dobinsons coils and shocks, Superior 3" panhards front and rear, castor bushes and extended brake lines! Ended up lifting 4", but im sure it will eventually sagg down a little bit!

After the lift it had left my steering wheel off center a bit so adjustable drag link is in the mail. Well thats it for now, will keep you posted when i come to fitting the drag link this weekend!

Well i got around to fitting the new adjustable drag link and sway bar disconnects yesterday which came from Performance Suspension, extremely quickly i might add! The picture compairing the two drag links probably says enough about how much stronger it is!

Sway bar disconnects were the perfect length for a 3" lift, no need to cut them down.

Nice truck mate. One day I'll get this TD into mine aswell. Getting closer... Take a pic of the motor and radiator setup can you? So I can see how they have plumbed in the RD28 radiator and recovery tank.

Well been a while since i last posted, been pretty busy with work. That doesnt mean the mods stop though! New Runva 11xp winch was purchased about a month ago and fitted up, works a treat. Also got around to fitting up a few extra lights, 2 on the rear and 1 each side.

Well, got busy last weekend and installed a few more goodies. 4" Stainless snorkel from Radius Fabrication and 4" airbox from Fatz Fabrication!
    nG1HjUD.jpg

Probably the most nerve wracking moment marking and cutting out the hole for the snorkel, i thought taking a holesaw to it last time was bad.
    PYB6nrk.jpgpLTduZx.jpgxUTXDaF.jpg

I stupidly somehow managed to put a hole in my radiator in the process, just nicked the edge of it with a hacksaw blade and had coolant spraying all over the place. I took this window of opportunity to change the cooling system over to the TD42 setup instead of the 2.8 gear that i still had from the conversion. Kinda glad i changed it after looking at the old one, probably weighed about 10 times the new one. Gave the old one a flush out and a lot of crap came out of it.

Overall i was extremely happy with the outcome, seems to breathe so much better, and you cant go past that induction sound of the stainless snorkel, Although i can imagine ill be over the noise in about a months time lol.

Hanging to get rid of the 2.8 vac tank but that was enough excitement for one weekend lol. Ill get around to it one day!

Also managed to turn my tie rod into a banana on Friday night,so a solid chromoly one will be on order from Performance Suspension
