    Cheers TD.

As Growler pointed out, the Gerber LMF II overall is my knife of choice and agree with getting a decent compass, preferably a Silva or similar brand that covers both mils and degrees.

I got mine from a seller in Vic for $110 posted here to WA. The price in the link is a massive markup and same price as Anaconda charge.

Having said that, it is a knife that won't let you down. Another knife I forgot all about and have had for 20 years now is the Ontario MK1 Airman's survival knife, super tough with a good sawback, blood flow grooving, solid pomel for hammering / breaking glass, sturdy sheath and a good stone. Can be tied to the leg (not strapped like the Gerber) and hang off the belt.

The new Ontario MK2 is even better but pricey.

If I had the coin ($350-400), I would buy the US military Trakker knife. It is a combo liner lock folding knife but once open, is strong enough to use as a spear, digging tool, cutting and chopping and comes with 2 pouches. 1 in its closed position and the other in its open position for use as a fighting knife. Many US military personnel are using them and the latest Ka-bar fighting knife in their kits.

The prodigy is another good knife, it is a slightly smaller version of the LMF II and doesn't have the extras like strap cutter

One is my hospital set up others are , hunting gear, survival gear yet to test it.LOL,
IMO they are the bees knees I even ended up buying a molle vest and a drinking bladder[bundy and coke]

Lol you'll end up looking like this eventually with all that gear haha1418265968058.jpg I'll have to into a shop to see what works for me then see what that seller has it for.

Tell me how practical is a tanto blade?? It looks nice but how well does it work?? Its hard to decide which CS Leatherneck I want coz the 39lsf will work well for what I want it for but the gi tanto 80pgtk looks awesome but throw in the mix the l 39lsf Made from german 4116 ss makes it hard to choose haha

I'll put some pics of some that are ideal for the cargo barrier,or the back of a seat
@ Alitist no idea why a Tanto would be better than say a clip point
or a drop point for that matter maybe its just stronger,
I love my stone washed tanto

@ OD lets hope it doesn't get that far that you require disc replacement,
have you had a MRI they can pin point trouble areas but cost $$$$$$

    Had 2 mri's and a bonescan, L4-S1 at a minimum at roughly $30k.

Tanto, drop and clip point basically comes down to user choice and what you want to use it for.

Here you go Lucas , they have radio pouches, drink bottle pouches field medical pouches.
The long one with 3 pouches would be ideal for shot gun shells, even has secret pouches.
These are tan I also have them in ACU which is a grey/white digital effect.

@ OD is the lower knife similar to he one you brought your wife??
