    TB42E- Fuel pump problem. AGHHH!

The fuel pump stopped working on the GQ. Plenty of fuel in tank.
OK- I have pulled out the belly tank. I tested the fuel pump with straight 12 volts from the battery. It runs. Then I reconnected the pump to the sender fitting, and nothing, when I turn on the ignition. Also- no power to the motor when reconnected.
I can hear a small "tick tick tick" when I turn on the ignition. Sounds like it MIGHT be coming from some where around the inlet manifold area. I cant track the noise properly, because the key is a long way from the engine bay!
I have tested the relay/fuse. Its getting power, and I swapped over another one-to be sure.

Does anyone have a suggestion on what electrical components are situated in the fuel pump wiring?

Would the fuel regulator have any effect on the fuel pump? Thats what I'm thinking, but I have no idea

    Thanks
    Mark

Unbelievable!! The previous owner must have fitted a fuel pump cut out switch. Then he has removed the switch. By cutting the wire. No- he didnt rejoin the wires. They were working, because when he cut them- they stuck together!! I thought my wiring was shonky!! That person leaves me in his dust!!! Have a fully functioning fuel pump again.
Now to put the belly tank back in. After I seal the 14mm hole, that is open to the elements. Another mechanics mystery!! 14mm hole -drilled into top of fuel tank, and left open. hmmmm. HA!!!

Glad you sorted it mate... the mind boggles at some of the stuff previous owners do.

Fuel pump cut out is not a bad thing at all if you run just ulp... anything to keep the thieving pricks from taking whats not theirs !!!

Yeah- thought about re-installing a switch while it was exposed, but running dual fuel, so not much point! LOl!
