it pisses me off when i take my pride and joy into looking at traiding it in as i now need a auto as i cant push clutch in anymore after 3 knee ops and they tell me that best they can do is $7000 on a 2004 gu wagon with heaps of add ons and some of the car yads have 2001 auto wagons for $20000 in bad condition

If it is your pride and joy with heaps of fruit and reasonable K's do what others suggest and convert it to Auto.

The car will drive better as well. The ZD's love an auto box, keeps 'em in the sweet spot of the torque curve

Get a price on an auto conversion, before trading it in. Whilst doing that, shop around on a price for a 2004 Patrol auto, if you haven`t already. A few months back, there was a stock standard green 2004 auto Patrol wagon in Mickey Mouse condition going for $16000. It was marked down from $21000.

thanks for the advise i did ring a local auto dealer he told me that to convert over to auto its not just the box but the whole 4 wiring harnesses have to be changed in the car thats where most of your money will go as they have to strip the whole car down to do it

He's right in the fact that it's more then the box, but the wiring isn't that hard. After all it his expertise. My guess would be a 2 day turn around.

Ring around to multiple shops if your serious about converting. Shop around

That's way steep. Doesn't seem right to me. I had a new auto put in mine, plus cooler, not reco of my auto, all new parts (I cooked it and nothing was salvageable, and it was $4k. I wouldn't think that the wiring would be $6k.
