    Rd28 glow plugs

    Hi guys I have a gq patrol with an rd28t and was wondering how do I test the back 3 glow plugs I did the front 3 with a test light but the back 3 don't light up even after I bought 3 new one thinking that they were buggered

    The back 3 glow plugs don't have a circuit to the body of the glow plug. You need to check the resistance between the two connections on the glow plug.

    Thanks mate looks like I blew $180 on plugs lol

    It's normally the second glow plug relay that fails. The one with five wires.

    The GQ 2.8 glow plugs have a first stage and a second stage.

    If you connect a voltmeter to the long busbar you should see the following reading

    Stage one : Around 12 volts

    Stage two : Around 6 volts.

    Voltmeter connected to the short busbar

    Stage one: Around 0 volts

    Stage two : Around 12 volts
