I would really like to know what terrain they attempted to cross and just how far it was to the proper crossing, the news seem to have casually left this info out ?

I know this may not be real smart of the young fella/s, but I can help feel some info is missing from this story, if it was 1 am, and say 30+ks to the nearest crossing, and the land was flat with only a couple of 6 inch rails to cross, I can kinda understand why someone would attempt to cross in a pair of 4x4s, also, the fact there is a bridge in the pic may indicate a river crossing, the pair may have been cornered by a river and the rail tracks ?

Anyone got any more info on how far it was to the nearest crossing , and if there is a river under the bridge ?

Can't we just make fun of an idiot and leave it at that? I mean what if we found out that he was boxed in by a rather large river on one side and it was 46kms to the nearest rail crossing on the other side. . . . . Where's the fun in that???

Let's just say the nearest crossing was 759meters North and leave it at that.
