I made the mistake of inviting my hunting partners mate who had just got his license. 2 accidental discharges later and he's no longer invited on our trips.
Its good when you know how your hunting buddy operates but can be a pain when someone with different ideas and techniques joins in.

2 is ridiculously dangerous. I have never seen 1.

His idea to check if his rifle was clear was to pull the trigger on 2 occasions. Luckily both times were pointed away from every one. His response was "oh, I wasn't sure if it was loaded or not. Seems that it was".

so important isn't it...in the time I spend with Ebb shooting I always say that.get it in your sights,safety off then finger on the trigger...the teaching bit is an important bit...She's getting good and not even looking for the safety she knows where it is..OK so I had to put a pic up....but as you can see it's in her mind already..

It's not an accidental discharge if it happens twice. How hard is it to break your action to see if it's loaded? First time is a warning and ban from trips with that kind if attitude 2nd time ask them to leave immediately or you'll get an uppercut.
