I just double click it, and it opens up the unzip software.

Download the file and then use WINRAR or WINZIP to uncompress it

EDIT: I think win 8 has its own unzipper

I've just spent 1/2 an hour installing winzip, and it turns out it is only a trial version and the help function is useless, and my overworked little brain is in "Derrrrrrr" mode. I can't find the UNZIP feature.

Right click over the file you want to unzip and it should say unzip or extract to, etc.

Try 7-zip

It's an open source program and does rar and zip

I'm on phone but if you type in 7 zip to google the first result is the site...

Yeah 7 zip is pretty good.
