Had my short pocketed pants on the other day and have now ordered a front elocker, 43% reduction gears and Boss rear spring tower brace kit. Should all be installed in a couple of weeks, can hardly wait to try it all out.

These were the last things on my longggggggggg wish list. Taken 6 years to get here, wonder if the mods will really now stop

............ and a couple of recovery points from Threedogs

Finally got the 43% gears and elocker installed, picked up the Patrol this 'arvo. Went for a bit of a spin in the back blocks of Hume, niiiiice.

Need to get out in the bush and get my moneys worth now!

Also fitted the Boss rear spring tower brace kit, not too sure about their value, my mechanic wasn't too impressed with them, I guess time will tell.

They are great for the driving I do. Steep up or down hill and the occasional tight slow bits, much better than the 83s I had a run in. Too low geared for other than rock crawling in my view. The only down side is having to stop to go into high range when the "faster" bits come up. Small price to pay for the benefits in my view.

Had a call from the mechanic today, been fixing an oil leak from the elocker wiring grommet on top of the diff, seems one of my indestructible AVM High Performance hubs has shit itself, stripped the splines I think he said. Will see when I take him my auto hubs to refit this 'arvo.

Had the AVMs for 2 years, (warranty 1 years ) not put too much stress on them so I am a bit disappointed. I had been told the HP versions where the ducks nuts, think I'll ring the ducks neck!

Just back from the workshop, the splines are not stripped, rather the internal spring has "sprung" into a thousand little springlets! Will have to see if it is serviceable.
