    Recaro Seats

Ok, so today I had a good long drive in a vehicle with a Recaro Orthopaed driver's seat. Not the current model with internal cooling fan, but the last model.

Holy Crap - how good are these things!

I've been keeping an eye on aftermarket seats because my old GU-I drivers seat is farrked on the 'getting in' side. It is so bad that I feel like I am twisted to the right when driving long distances and get a constant back ache from long drives. When off-road I can feel my back muscles working hard to stabilise my torso and at the end of a long day I am usually somewhat stuffed.

Over the last year or so I have had a sit in the Stratos 3000 and the Recaro Expert and Specialist (because they are available at ARB and TJM), but today I got a road test of the Recaro Ortho and can only say that one of these is going to be my next purchase.

The Ortho seat has a pretty flat base with minimal thigh bolster but awesome electric adjustability, lumbar support and torso bolsters. Also, one of the most underrated features I think is the leg extension piece that supports your thighs when driving. I got to drive both on highway for 3hrs and off-road, and the support was fan-f..cking-tastic in all regards. I was no where near as stuffed at the end of the day and my back had not even looked like seizing up.

Just the comfort level of the foam itself is far superior to the standard Nissan seat. I feel like a walking bloody Recaro advert at the moment.... time to upgrade my seats!
Between Patrols ATM. Had a beaut GU with 6.5 Chev TD. Next is a GU ute with a 4.5 litre Cummins conversion and a camper on the back.

I would have to say mine are more soft and comfortable, being original seats and having more sponge in them. The Recaro orth, so, so much more supportive and smug but my big ass were not comfortable in them.
