Hi all,
At the moment I am in the planning stages for the next stage of improvement for the old trol. As the title states, I am looking at turboing the ol' 42 to give her a bit more gusto. But I am going a little further than that and that is where I am running into the area of needing ideas/advice/guidance.
The idea I'm having is taking the old TB42S running dual fuel and running 100% gas and turbo. My plan so far involves getting rid of all of the petrol gear including tank, lines, pump, carby and manifold. I have an idea to run a TD42 alternator with a vacuum pump to solve that issue, as well as using a TB42E intake manifold and throttle body.
The questions I have for all of you people, full of wisdom, are:-
-What sort of boost could I safely run on stock internals?
-Would I be able to keep my gas mixer and adapt it onto the throttle body?
-Would I be better off using a single injector for the gas?
-If I were to use a single gas injector in the manifold, would I have to change my converter?
-Is the TD42 alternator with vacuum pump the best option to handle my vacuum needs?
Also, if anybody has done anything similar to this, I would really love to hear any problems you ran into while doing this and would also really like to see any photos of any of the things I'm looking at doing.
Most of the work will be getting done by me, just gotta get the bike up and running so the patrol can be off the road for a couple of months while I get everything done.
Thank you in advance
Zak
