I was going to write about my kitchen getting flooded but after AB's post my problem seems insignificant.
That is crazy, the offender will get a slap on the wrist unless he has priors.
He should be taken off the streets.

DO NOT USE ALIANZ INSURANCE
F$#king a#% holes cancelled my home insurance last year because they had been sending mail to my old address and never got a response and I had not noticed the auto payment wasn't coming out of my mastercard.
I have been in the current house for 9 years and have given them the new address countless times which they should have as it is the house that was insured.
I only found out I was not insured as I wanted to make a claim.
2011 GU8 ST 3.0 CRD, ARB Bullbar with IPF spotties, scrub bars and side steps, Snorkel, Dual Battery system, Waeco fridge, Turbo Timer, ARB Roof Rack with 5 IPF spotties across the front, Custom full Leather Bucket seats, DPchip, 3" Taipan exhaust, ARE Intercooler & scoop, Autron EGT/Boost and dual volt gauges, ARB front locker.
Yeap I dumped them this year for very poor service.
On the Cape trip my van was side swiped by a motor home, at the time the other party admitted liability several times in front of witnesses. I come home to a notice from his insurer denying responsibility and advising me they will assess his damages and claim on my insurance. I ring my insurance and after trying to explain what happened the peanut says I'm probably at fault as I was in the process of overtaking.
Six months after the event I get a quote of nearly $5000, the idiot clipped the last 25cm of my van and did minimal damage. He had a scratch on his clapped out converted bus.
I disputed this with my insurance company, they weren't interested as they said it was not unusual to get the quotes that long after. They were not interested in my witnesses as they only heard him admit liability and did not see the actual accident. I offered to go to court but they said they would not cover my legal expenses etc.
Long story short I was out of pocket $500 excess and lost my no claim rating with them.
Lucky my other car was insured by RACV and they kept my rating when I transferred back to them for the Patrol.
Going over this has really pi55ed me off again, steer clear of them - the Ar5eholes.
Cheers

Thanks bud, the good news is that the doctor is confident he will recover without brain damage, still have his original personality and live a normal life but the road to recovery and the rehab is a long time...
I probably shouldn't discuss much more on here though with the other person unfortunately folks.
